Tulani is a powerhouse R&B singer, songwriter and harpist whose music colors outside the lines. She can’t be put in a box! Her voice, soulful and powerful has been described as “rich as coffee,” Her music, a blend of pop, funk and soul and heavily influenced by the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s has been described as “old school meets the future.”
A high energy and electric entertainer, Tulani, has toured internationally with Lady Gaga and has opened up for Chaka Khan, Angie Stone, Musiq Soulchild, as well as George Clinton and Parliament Funkadelic and she performed with Omari Hardwick star of hit show "Power." Tulani was the One MusicFest "Searching for the One" winner where she performed on the Main Stage in a lineup that included Andra Day, Outkast, CeeLo Green, Erykah Badu, Ice Cube, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, BJ the Chicago Kid, A$AP Ferg, Gary Clark, Jr. and Jazmine Sullivan. She was also chosen as the ATL Live On The Park "Pepsi Artist of the Month." She also performed at Phillips Arena on the same bill as Wyclef Jean, Jill Scott, and Estelle. She has performed for tributes honoring Fabolous, and The Reverend Jesse Jackson, and was handpicked to perform a tribute for Cathy Hughes at the naming of the Cathy Hughes School of Communication at Howard University.
Wowing audiences across the world, Tulani performed at MAJIC 107.5 Wednesday Winddown at Centennial Park in Atlanta, GA, the BET Music Matters Showcase at SOB's in NYC, The Artscape Festival in Baltimore, MD, and she was the headline performer for Toyota in Ft Lauderdale, Fl, and the headline performer for Jack Daniels Women of Whiskey events in Miami, Fl and Atlanta, GA. She has also performed on major stages such as the Tobin Center in San Antonio, TX, the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, The Howard Theatre, and Arena Stage in Washington, DC, Lakewood Amphitheater, Opera and Phillips Arena in Atlanta, GA, The Faena Amphitheater and Ice Palace in Miami, Fl and the Fillmore in Maryland to name a few.
Tulani grew up surrounded by music. Her late father was a professional jazz guitarist and songwriter, who trained and mentored Tulani in music. As a kid, she grew up singing solos in choir and began studying harp soon after.
Tulani refers to her style of music as "New Century Groove" and has released 3 singles “Miss You,” “Let’s Dance,” and “Love Again.”
Her album is set to be released summer of 2018.
